On behalf of the Complete Streets Committee, this communication is to inform residents about some exciting projects our town is undertaking. With close input from multiple town committees, strong support from the Select Board, and funding from the State of Massachusetts, we have engaged the Conway School of Landscape Design to help us assess recreational access and safety in Goshen.
In early April, Conway School will be helping us develop a walkability and connectivity plan for the town. This project will assess current safety for all modes of transportation and solutions to making pedestrian activities generally safer in our town. Additionally, they will advise us on making the town center more visible and user-friendly through improved signage, landscaping, and use of existing spaces. It will be completed by the end of May.
Come June, a second project by TEC Engineering will build from the Conway School project and develop a prioritized list of projects which will assess and improve some of Goshen roads and other infrastructure. This project will be completed in the Fall of 2019 and paid for with additional awarded grant funds.
There will be an opportunity for all town residents to meet with the Complete Streets Committee and the representatives from Conway School in April. Once the exact date is determined, we will post it on the Town web site. There will also be an open public forum to discuss these projects during the Annual Town Meeting in May.
We are looking forward to seeing you at one or both of these gatherings, and hearing the many diverse ideas on the recommended improvements.
Thank you for your interest and support,
